I am in the process of making a lacy top in crochet, with a light weight cotton and hook 3mm.  It will be similar to one I made for a relative some years ago (Motif Lacy Top @ Lanas & Hilos). 

Actualmente estoy tejiendo una blusa calada en ganchillo con algodón liviano y gancho de 3mm.  Será similar a uno que le hice a una pariente hace unos años (Blusa Calada de Motifs @ Lanas & Hilos). 

WIP: Daisy Blanket

Two years ago I made the Daisy Blanket, and I loved it.  So I thought I should make it again.  This time, I will make a few changes: I will use the Join-as-you-go method for joining the squares (last time I joined with sc sts), and I will use a DK yarn (last time I used worsted).  Here are some shots of the work in progress…

Hace dos años hice una Manta Margarita (Daisy Blanket), y me gustó tanto que pensé en repetirla de nuevo.  Pero en esta ocasión haré algunos cambios: usaré una lana más liviana, y uniré los cuadros con en la última pasada de forma continua (en lugar de con puntos bajos, como lo hice en la anterior).  Aquí hay unas fotos del progreso…

Estoy progresando en la manta de bebé con aplicaciones de flor africana…

I am having lots of fun mixing and matching colors.  And I confess I started joining before finishing all the flowers.  I could not wait to see how it would look with the white final row, which will make the background…and I am loving it!

Me estoy divirtiendo mezclando colores. Y debo confesar que comencé a unirlas antes de terminar todas las flores.  No podía esperar para ver cómo se vería el fondo blanco…y felizmente me gusta mucho.

After an overload of crochet (finishing my huge crochet tablecloth), now it is time to pick up my knitting needles.  Here are two projects I am working on:

Luego de una sobredosis de ganchillo (con mi mantel enorme), estoy lista para trabajar en dos agujas.  Estos son dos proyectos en progreso…  

  

a. Cotton Shawl: with mixed stripes in blue, white, red, and grey.  I am happily experimenting with a new pattern (Josephine Shawl, found in Ravelry).  Thanks for the tip, Carmen ;-)

a.  Chal de algodón: con franjas mixtas en colores: azul, blanco, gris y rojo. Estoy probando un nuevo patrón (Chal Josefina), gracias a la referencia de Carmen, de Café & Puntadas. ¡Muchas gracias, amiga!

b. And here is the beginning of a Cotton Top.  It will be a new version of the top I made for my sister: Cotton Experiment.  I am making this one in different shades of green.  But this time I am making a kind of an experiment…I started the top part in crochet, and decided to knit the rest. 

b.  Y este es el comienzo de una blusa en algodón.  Es una nueva versión de la blusa que le hice a mi hermana: Experimento en Algodón.  Ahora estoy usando varios tonos verdes.  Pero en esta ocasión lo haré con una variación: la parte de arriba es en ganchillo, y el resto lo haré en dos agujas.

The idea of making a table runner actually progressed, and now I decided to make a full tablecloth.  I just had to make sure I could find enough cream cotton thread…and I did (with the help of some friends!). 

La idea de hacer un centro de mesa progresó…y ahora decidí hacer un mantel completo.  Sólo tenía que asegurarme de encontrar suficiente hilo crema, y ya lo logré (con la ayuda de unas amiguitas). 

It turned out to be a big huge project, but I am actually enjoying the process very much, and it is flying.  I found a way to join the motifs in a continuous way, and this is making the progress so much easier.  It is almost covering the whole table now!  I can´t wait to use it on my dinner table…     

A veces pienso que estoy un poco loca al tratar de hacer un proyecto tan grande; pero la realidad es que lo estoy disfrutando mucho, y está avanzando rápidamente.  Me ingenié la forma de unir los motifs en forma continua, y eso hace que el proceso sea mucho más fácil. Ya casi esta cubriendo toda la mesa.  No aguanto las ganas de usar el mantel en mi mesa de comedor…

World Cup Project

There is a world-wide party going on: the Soccer World Cup, Brazil 2014.  I am not a huge sports fan, but I can´t help to turn on the TV to follow the soccer games.  Why I am telling you this?  Well, because I decided to start a new crochet project while “half-watching” the games... 

Hay una fiesta a nivel mundial: La Copa Mundial de Fútbol, Brasil 2014.  No soy una gran fanática de los deportes, pero no puedo evitar participar de cierta forma de esta fiesta.  ¿Por qué les cuento esto?  Porque decidí comenzar un nuevo proyecto en ganchillo mientras que “medio veo” el Mundial… 

I am making a lacy table runner for my dining table, with fine cotton in double thread.  I will be using a motif I found in Pinterest.  The motifs will have color in the center and off white on the background. 

It is a big project, so I am wondering how far I can go while the World Cup runs…

Decidí hacer un mantel en ganchillo para la mesa del comedor, con hilo doble de algodón.  Estaré usando un motif que encontré en Pinterest.  El centro de los motifs irán con colores otoñales, y el fondo en color crema. 

Es un proyecto grande, así que me pregunto cuánto lograré avanzar en el transcurso de la Copa Mundial…

Mood Blanket Challenge: 123 / 365

Don´t think I have forgotten about the Mood Blanket Challenge…

No crean que me he olvidado del RetoMood Blanket…

I have been quietly working the rows for the next Mood Blanket.  This time I will keep it simple:  All Dc stripes.  I will alternate between the following colors to make a blanket for a baby boy: Brown, grey, cream, autumn red, light blue and beige.  My progress so far: 23 stripes (one color stripe per day).

Calladamente he estado tejiendo hilera por hilera de la próxima manta del reto Mood Blanket.   En esta ocasión estoy usando una puntada simple, de sólo puntos altos.  Elegí los siguientes colores para una manta de niño: café, gris, crema, celeste, beige y rojo otoño.  Mi progreso a la fecha: 23 franjas.

I already started the third “baby Mood Blanket”…

Ya comencé a tejer la tercera manta de bebé para el reto “Mood Challenge”…

Inspired by spring, I started the blanket with flower motifs…but they “my mood” took me in a different direction, and I continued it with granny stripes.  Today is the day 90 of the challenge, so I am a little more advanced than the pictures show.  If all goes as planned, I should finish it next week…

Inspirada en la primavera, comencé la manta con flores…pero luego le di un giro al tema, y seguí con líneas granny.  Hoy es el día 90 del Reto, así que voy un poco más avanzada que lo que muestran las fotos.  Si no hay contratiempos, debería terminar esta manta la próxima semana…

Stash Report: October

Now that the cooler weather is arriving, I have felt more inspired to knit and crochet  (and I imagine you feel the same!)  Therefore, I have been very productive lately, making hats, scarves, and finishing some blankets…

Ahora que el clima está más frío, me he sentido más inspirada a tejer (y me imagino que ustedes también).  Por eso, he estado muy productiva últimamente, haciendo gorras, bufandas, y terminando unas frazadas… 

* Stash hats

I have already shown you some stash hats before…and here are other versions I have made or are in progress...

Ya les había mostrado unas “gorras stash”...y aquí les muestro otrtas que he hecho, o que están en progreso... 

In three sizes: adult, child and baby.  

En tres tamaños: adulto, infante, bebe.  Uno para niña, en colores birllantes.  

One for a girl, in bright colors.  

One for a baby in light brown.  

Uno para bebé, en tonos marrón claro.

In progress:  one with stash in blues, and the other in shades of grey (+ B&W).

En progreso: con tonos azules, y otra en grises (+ blanco y negro).

Remember the “Blue Stash Hat” I made in crochet? Well, I unraveled the rib part, and added some ear-flaps…just for fun. 

¿Recuerdan la gorra azul hecha en ganchillo con lanas azules?  Pues deshice el resorte, y le añadí unas orejeras…para darle un toque divertido.

* Baktus scarves

Baktus are so fun to make, knit from tip to tip.  And they are perfect for stash-busting.  Here is a peek at some wip’s…

Las bufandas Baktus son tan divertidas de hacer, tejidas de punta a punta.  Y son perfectas para usar las lanas acumuladas.  Aquí les doy un vistazo de algunas que estoy haciendo…

I have also made great progress with my big blankets, both with hexagon motifs.  

También he avanzado en mis frazadas grandes, ambas hechas con motifs hexagonales.

a. “Peaceful Hexagon”. This one is almost done.  I am working on the border right now.

“Hexágono Pacífico”.  Está casi terminada; actualmente estoy tejiendo el borde.

b. “Autumn Hexagon”.  I still have to work a few rows on this one, but is growing…

“Hexágono Otoñal”.  Todavía me faltan unas hileras, pero está creciendo…

Now that I finished my niece´s blanket (Blue Canvas), I need to get back to my two blankets that I started so long ago…

Ahora que terminé la frazada de mi sobrina (Lienzo Azul), necesito volver a trabajar en dos frazadas que comencé hace tiempo…

1. Peaceful Blanket

I am making this floral blanket for my bedroom. 

Estoy haciendo esta frazada floral para mi dormitorio.

I am using the motif called “Love at First Sight Hex” (pattern @ Le Monde de Sucrette). All motifs have a beige center; then I am alternating between three colors: purples, green and neutrals.  The background will be in cream.

Estoy usando el motif llamado “Amor a Primera Vista” (patrón @ Le Monde de Sucrette).  Todos los centros son de color beige; y luego estaré alternando entre tres colores: morados, verdes y neutrales. Todo el fondo será en crema.

I will be using a lot of my worsted stash for this one, but I confess I have bought a few extra colors for balance. Of course, extra cream will be needed!

Sin lugar a dudas usaré muchas de mis lanas acumuladas para esta frazada, pero confieso que he comprado algunos colores extra para darle balance.  Por supuesto, necesitaré más crema… 

2.  Autumn Blanket

I am making this blanket for my living room.  I am using a light Alpaca yarn, which I bought some years back. 

Esta frazada la estoy haciendo para mi sala de estar. Está hecha con lana de Alpaca, que compré hace varios años.

I am using Autumn tones. Instead of mixing and matching all colors, I decided to make three basic color combinations, and repeat them throughout.

Estaré usando colores otoñales.  En lugar de combinar todos los colores, decidí escoger tres combinaciones básicas, y repetirlas en toda la frazada.  

I am also using the “Love at First Sight” motif for this blanket. 

Para esta frazada, también estoy usando el motif “Amor a Primera Vista” (allí pueden encontrar la gráfica).
