I alternated angora and worsted yarns to give it a soft and light touch.

Rainbow

It is always nice to have a touch of rainbow in the cold of winter, don´t you think?

Siempre es agradable tener un toque de arcoiris en el invierno, ¿no les parece?

The Baktus scarf is for a young lady, made with white angora and a colorful Mosaic Bernat yarn.  The cowl is made with black angora, alternated with a lovely wool that I’ve had in my stash for years.   

La Bufanda Baktus es para una chica, y está tejida con angora blanca y una lana colorida (Mosaic de Bernat).  El cuello está tejido con angora negra, alternado con una lana que tenía guardada desde hace mucho, y finalmente le encontré uso.

Hdc Infinity

A while back, I made a wine-colored scarf with a lovely stitch pattern that looks as if it is knit but it is actually in crochet.  Now I decided to make it in the round, as an infinity scarf…

Hace un tiempo tejí una bufanda de color vino, la cual parece tejida a punto pero en realidad está hecha en ganchillo.  Ahora decidí hacer otra, pero en forma de infinito… 

I combined a DK yarn with angora of the same color.  Then I joined the ends to turn it into an infinity scarf.  It looks a little bulky, but believe me when I say it is super soft and cozy.  First I made one in Royal blue, and I liked it so much that I made two more: in purple and in red (I sold two and kept one).

Combiné dos lanas del mismo color, una acrílica liviana y otra angora. Luego uní los extremos para convertirla en una bufada infinito.  Aunque parezca gruesa, la bufanda resulta muy suave y acogedora.  Primero tejí la azul, y me gustó tanto que decidí hacer otras dos más: en morado y en rojo.

More Neckwarmers

Lately, I have been making more neckwarmers…

Últimamente he estado tejiendo más cuellos…

Some of these are for gifts, and some are commissions.  I have used this stitch for infinity scarves and cowls; this time I made them taller and closer to the neck.  I used two yarns together, mixing a variety of worsted yarns, and for some of them I added angora yarn for extra flushness and texture.  These are fun to make, and fast.  I enjoy making them as well as wearing them.

Unos de ellos eran regalos, otros pedidos.  Ya había usado esta puntada para hacer bufandas infinito o cuellos medianos; pero en esta ocasión los tejí más altos y pegados al cuello.  Los hice con lana doble, mezclando una variedad de lanas medianas y algunas con angora para darles textura y suavidad.  Son fáciles y rápido de hacer, y muy cómodos para usar.  El tutorial para el punto lo pueden encontrar acá ( en inglés).

More Colorful Cowls

I have made a few more “colorful cowls”…

Tejí otros cuellos coloridos…

They are rather easy to make: They are made all in garter (all knit sts.), alternating two rows of a variegated yarn (Mosaic by Bernat), and two rows of angora yarn [Madame Tricote Paris, made from the angora goat, not rabbits]. I used 8mm knitting needles, which makes it soft and airy.  I casted on 48 sts (aprox 14”), and knitted for 65 rows (aprox. 25”).  The ends are then sewn together.  Finally, I make a simple border in crochet (1sc + chain 1) with the angora yarn…and that’s it!

I can´t decide which one I like the best. What about you?

Son fáciles de tejer, hecho todo con punto derecho, alternando entre dos hileras de lana colorida y dos hileras de angora.  Utilicé agujas de 8mm, para que el tejido quede suave y un poco calado.  Monté 48 puntos (aprox. 14”), y tejí 65 hileras (aprox. 25”).  Luego se cosen los extremos, y finalmente hago un borde simple en ganchillo con angora…¡y eso es todo!

No sé cual de todos me gusta más. ¿Qué piensan ustedes?

Diving with Red

One of my favorite shawls is the “Diving In”.  I love its diagonal stripes and its versatility.  Because of its structure, it can be used both as a shawlette or as a long triangle scarf.  My mom and I have made a few already (In Love with a New Shawl; Mom’sDiving Shawl; Blue Diving), and now we decided to make another one in shades of grey, cream and a splash of red…

Uno de mis chales favoritos es el “Diving In”.  Realmente me gustan sus líneas diagonales y su versatilidad.  Debido a su estructura, puede usarse como un chal pequeño o como una bufanda triangular.  Mi mamá y yo ya hemos tejido varios (In Love with a New Shawl; Mom’s Diving Shawl; Blue Diving), y ahora hicimos uno más en tonos gris, rojo y crema…

My mom made this Diving shawl with Merino wool, and I made mine with Angora/Mohair and a variety of medium yarns I had in my stash.  l am sure this is a pattern I will make once and again.

Hat & Cowl for a Boy

This is a knit hat and a cozy cowl for a boy…

Esta es una gorra tejida para un niño, y acompañado de un cuello alto…

Both are made with worsted yarn (Caron Simply Soft).  At the last moment, I added a pompom to the hat.  [No pattern—improvised from a photo sent by the boy’s mother].

Ambas piezas están hechas con lana mediana (Caron Simply Soft). al último momento le añadí un pompón.  [Sin patrón—inspirada en una foto que me envió la mamá del niño].
