BUFANDA BAKTUS
The first time I
saw the Baktus Scarf in Raverly, I fell in love with it. So I decided to make one…
La primera vez que vi la bufanda
Baktus en Ravelry, me enamoré de ella.
Por lo tanto, decidí hacerme una…
It has a fun
construction. It starts in one end with
4 st, and grows every 4th row.
When you reach half of the length you want, you start decreasing
accordingly.
Esta bufanda tiene una forma
curiosa.
The original
Baktus is made in garter st. (all knit).
But I decided to make it in stockinette st (Knit in right side, and purl
on wrong side), to make it lighter. To
prevent from curling, I made a 3-st garter border. To be quite frank, it still curls up a bit,
even after blocking, but I don´t mind it that much.
I used different
brands of yarn, mostly left-over yarn from other projects. All are worsted yarn, in colors: Country Blue, Taupe, Beige, Natural, Medium
and Dark Grey, Aqua, Mustard Yellow, Linen.
Utilicé lanas variadas, todos de
grosor mediano, alternando los diferentes colores: azul campestre, café claro,
beige, natural, gris mediano y oscuro, aqua, amarillo mostaza y lino.
At the ends, I
added some tassles.
En las puntas le añadí unos
flecos.
In all honesty, I
think I made it a bit too long (250 cms), but I still love it. I am considering making another one, using other colors, but a bit smaller.
* STASH-BUSTER PROJECT (1): I started this scarf at the end of last year, but I will count it as my first "stash-buster" project for 2013. It is perfect, because it does take just a small amount of each color.

It's beautiful Ana and what a lovely way to use up some stash. :)
ReplyDeleteThat is an interesting pattern . . increasing until you are half way to the length and then start the decrease. I like your choice of colors too.
ReplyDeleteYour scarf is beautiful! I like longer scarves so this one looks perfect to me. I tried knitting years ago but it just did not make sense to me at all. Have a great day! Tammy

ReplyDeleteAnita!
Besos.

Pretty scarf! Lovely colors but still simple enough. I haven't seen this pattern on Ravelry before, but I am adding to my stash. Now I am very onto knitting: I love slow meditative moves :)

I love this scarf Ana - it's really stylish and a great way of using up yarn. Good luck with the stashbuster challenge :)
ReplyDeleteFantastic start to the stash busting. Gorgeous scarf, loving the way those colours come together.
ReplyDeleteEnjoy stashbusting.
Love it Ana, and hadn't seen this pattern so thanks so very much! Love it as a stash buster and not garter stitch......thanks so much for sharing on Craft Schooling Sunday, and great to see some knitting!

ReplyDeleteWow, Ana, this is simply gorgeous! I love this pattern, too. But you did a fabulous job choosing the color pattern. I am continually impressed with your work. Thanks for sharing at Hookin on Hump Day!
ReplyDeleteOh, I love this scarf. I wish I could do this!
ReplyDeleteI love it too. I have done a crochet one but I want one to show off the yarn, which stockinette will do. Do you increase/decrease in the garter stitch band please?
ReplyDeleteI made the increase in the stitch right before the garter ;-)
DeleteOh, thank you so much for that. I'd forgotten I'd posted and was just coming on here today to have another look at what you've written. I've not knitted one yet but crocheted two, which are gorgeous. I now must try to knit one!
