Baby Blanket: Sweet Ocean Breeze

(Crochet * Stash-buster)
Made by: Beatriz

Blankets are great shash busters, so we keep making them...

My mom made this blanket for a baby girl.

It is made with DK yarn in the following colors: Aqua, Turquoise, Pink, Bright Green, Grey and White.

The waves and the colors remind me of the ocean…with a girly splash of pink ♥

The pattern was designed by Maaike from Crejjtion.  It has a very cool combination of stripes, clusters and waves. The pattern is available at Crejjtion’s Etsy shop: Miami Beach Baby Blanket.

The border is a little lacy, all in white.

  16. Stunning colors and beautiful work. Do you have any tips or tricks or techniques for weaving in all those ends? That's what stops me from making beautiful projects like this.

    1. May I ask what yarn and weight did you use. It said dk yarn used and I see lion brand carries it.

Did you use the same color aqua, turquoise, pink, bright green, grey and white?

      Thank you,
      Darlene

    2. I did not mentiopn the brand because ut is a Turkish yarn (Madame Tricote--Baby Soft and Dora). But I think you can use any baby yarn! I saw in line that Caron now made a lighter version of the Simply Soft line, and they have a lovely color selection.

  30. What kind of stitch is that on the border?? I see that yours is different from what is on the pattern. It is just beautiful!!

  31. I'm also in love with the border pattern. I'm going to try and replicate it on my current afghan project. It looks like one row of single crotchets, followed by double crotchets and chains, with a shell type pattern on top. I'd love to have the real pattern used here because it's so lacy and balanced and beautiful, but I'll be experimenting until then :)

    1. I am glad you liked it! My mom made this one a while ago. From what I see, there is first a row of sc's, as a foundation. Then there are two rows of "V-stitch": 1Dc+chain 1+1Dc, all in the same spot, then skip 2sts. The final row is a slanted shell (similar to the one made by Le Monde de Sucrette) . I hope this information helps (I can ask my mom if you have more questions!)

  32. I'm trying to figure out the final row but I can't see where the stitches go. It's really beautiful, pleadp help.
