BAKTUS SCARF

BUFANDA BAKTUS

The first time I saw the Baktus Scarf in Raverly, I fell in love with it.   So I decided to make one…

It has a fun construction.  It starts in one end with 4 st, and grows every 4th row.  When you reach half of the length you want, you start decreasing accordingly.

The original Baktus is made in garter st. (all knit).  But I decided to make it in stockinette st (Knit in right side, and purl on wrong side), to make it lighter.  To prevent from curling, I made a 3-st garter border.  To be quite frank, it still curls up a bit, even after blocking, but I don´t mind it that much.

I used different brands of yarn, mostly left-over yarn from other projects.  All are worsted yarn, in colors:  Country Blue, Taupe, Beige, Natural, Medium and Dark Grey, Aqua, Mustard Yellow, Linen.

At the ends, I added some tassles.
En las puntas le añadí unos flecos.

In all honesty, I think I made it a bit too long (250 cms), but I still love it.   I am considering making another one, using other colors, but a bit smaller.

* STASH-BUSTER PROJECT (1):  I started this scarf at the end of last year, but I will count it as my first "stash-buster" project for 2013.  It is perfect, because it does take just a small amount of each color.

  9. Pretty scarf! Lovely colors but still simple enough. I haven't seen this pattern on Ravelry before, but I am adding to my stash. Now I am very onto knitting: I love slow meditative moves :)

  22. I love it too. I have done a crochet one but I want one to show off the yarn, which stockinette will do. Do you increase/decrease in the garter stitch band please?

    1. I made the increase in the stitch right before the garter ;-)
