In the past few months I have made several owl hats for friends and family.  Here are some photos…

Pink & Grey

A baby cardigan in pink and grey…

Un cardigan para bebé en rosado y gris…

It is basically a raglan-style cardigan, knit from the top down.  The top part is made in garter stitch, and the rest in stockinette stitch. I also made a matching granny hat in crochet.  I am loving this combination of antique pink and dark grey.

Básicamente es un cardigan estilo ranglan, tejido de arriba para abajo.  La parte superior está tejida en punto vainilla (sólo derecho), y el resto en punto jersey.  Para combinar, hice una gorrita en ganchillo estilo granny, con una flor.  Me está gustando mucho está combinación de rosado antiguo y gris oscuro.

With Pompons

Lately, I have been making things with pompons…

I don´t have a pompom maker, so I made these using my hands.  Here are some tutorials @ Youtube if you want to give them a try:

Hat & Cowl for a Boy

This is a knit hat and a cozy cowl for a boy…

Esta es una gorra tejida para un niño, y acompañado de un cuello alto…

Both are made with worsted yarn (Caron Simply Soft).  At the last moment, I added a pompom to the hat.  [No pattern—improvised from a photo sent by the boy’s mother].

Ambas piezas están hechas con lana mediana (Caron Simply Soft). al último momento le añadí un pompón.  [Sin patrón—inspirada en una foto que me envió la mamá del niño].

Crochet Beanies and Cowls

Crochet beanies in shades of blue…

Gorras altas en tonos azules…

Both of these hats are made in crochet, with two strands of yarn, in blue and cream shades.   One is a granny hat, with an Hdc rib.  For the other hat, I used the same stitch as the “Soft Infinity Cowl”, with a self-striping merino yarn.

Of course, I had to make matching cowls as well!  They are similar to some infinity scarves I made last year (Bulky Soft Infinity; MalabrigoInfinity; Soft Infinity Scarf), but this time I made them shorter as cowls and a bit wider (though not much because we have mild winters here, but it can be made as wide as you want).

How to Crochet aRound Scarf

Ambas gorras están hechas en ganchillo, con lana doble, en tonos azules y crema.  Una gorra está hecha con punto de la abuelita (granny).  La otra con el mismo punto utilizado en la bufanda infinito (patrón en You-Tube).  Por supuesto, también tenía que hacer cuellos que combinarán. Estos son similares a los que hice el año pasado (Bulky SoftInfinity; Malabrigo Infinity), pero esta vez los hice más cortos y un poco más anchos, como cuellos.
