PART I
(Crochet *
Stash-buster)
The Fantasy
Blanket was inspired by the Stash-busting Challenge (2013). It is a crochet blanket made with medium
yarn, using a variety of stitches and colors.
This is a sample
of the stitches used in the Fantasy Blanket. I will be sharing here in the blog the graphic patterns of the stitches. [For those who are not familiar with crochet charts, check: International crochet symbols downloadable as PDF].
Materials for the
Fantasy Blanket:
·
Medium yarn in many colors (I used 10 colors for mine,
but you can use as many colors as you wish, as long as they go well together). The
quantity will depend on how big you want it.
·
Crochet Hook # 4.5 or 5 mm
In our Knit Club,
we all decided to make the blanket in a small size (for a baby carriage), but the
pattern can easily be adapted to any size.
Materiales:
·
THE BEGINNING
The first rows
are very simple: made all with Dc’s, except the first row which is made with
Foundation Dc (Fdc). If you have never
used this stitch, there are some videos in YouTube that teach how to do
it, such as: Chainless Double Crochet Foundation by The Art
of Crochet. Another option: You can always make the foundation
row starting with chains, and then Dc´s.
For this section,
use 2 colors: Color A (lilac, in photo) and Color B (white).
1. Start with a row of Foundation Dc (Fdc)
in multiple of 3 + 2. (For example: 99+2= 101; 102+2=104;
108+2=110; 120+2=122; 150+2=152 etc.]
[Note: For a
small baby size, we made a foundation row of 104 Fdc.]
The other rows
are all Dc:
2. (Color A)
3 & 4. (Color
B)
5 & 6. (Color
A)
Here is the
graphic pattern:
colores: Color A (lila) y Color B (blanco).
1.
etc.).
Todas las demás hileras son en
puntos altos.
2. (Color A)
3 & 4. (Color B)
5 & 6. (Color A)
Really pretty and all the color combination so wonderful!
