World Cup Project

(Crochet * Stash-buster)

There is a world-wide party going on: the Soccer World Cup, Brazil 2014.  I am not a huge sports fan, but I can´t help to turn on the TV to follow the soccer games.  Why I am telling you this?  Well, because I decided to start a new crochet project while “half-watching” the games...

I am making a lacy table runner for my dining table, with fine cotton in double thread.  I will be using a motif I found in Pinterest.  The motifs will have color in the center and off white on the background.
It is a big project, so I am wondering how far I can go while the World Cup runs…

  1. Those colors are great. It's going to be so pretty. I showed a picture of a square for a similar table-topper I'm making on my blog today. I started it a couple of years ago and never picked it back up. Maybe I should do that. Enjoy your soccer and table runner!

  15. Ha, ha - this is soo true!! We never interested in football (or soccer), but when the world cup began we started to look nearly every game - the last ones start too late (at midnight). Lovely project, it will become a pretty table runner. I love this lacy impression and your earthy colours. Enjoy your crochet and your "half" soccer world cup! :-) Greetings from Germany, Sabine.
