(Crochet *
Stash-buster)
The Blue Canvas
blanket is all finished…all 108 squares and border!
La frazada “Lienzo Azul” ya está
terminada… los 108 cuadros con el borde.
It is a gift for
my niece. She is going to set it on the
foot of her bed; but, if extended, it covers the whole bed (queen size).
The motif is a modified
version of the “Sunburst”, which I also used for a cushion not long ago (check:
“Study Cushion” for a graphic chart and more information).
I joined the
squares with simple crochet stitches. To
avoid the join from being too bulky, I actually made: *1sc+ch1* (skipping a st
with every chain).
My niece wanted
the border to be simple, very simple…and all in blue. So I continued with a few
rows of granny stripes, and then a final row of hdc. To close up the border, I used slip stitch all
around.
This is a truly
stash-buster project. All yarn was from
my stash, except for the navy blue for the background and one extra cream.
crema.
Call me crazy…but
I am SO tempted to make another one (maybe for a baby girl)…
