For the last two years, I have been contributing to a charity organization called “Pishamitas con Amor” (in English, “Little Pijamas with Love”).

They collect clothing for babies, blankets,
diapers, etc. in order to help mothers who have just given birth in the public
hospital (@ Guatemala City).
To contribute to that good cause, I have been
crocheting baby sweaters…
Para contribuir a esa buena causa, he estado tejiendo suéteres para bebé…

newborns and premature babies.
…y gorritas para recién nacidos y bebés
prematuros.

This year I will
also be making several blankets, as part of the Challenge “Crochet Mood Blanket2014”. I have almost finished the first
one, and I will share it soon.
My mom and aunt
are also crocheting for this good cause… My mom made this granny-stripes
blanket in blue tones, and my aunt made the following colorful Ripple blanket with a
matching hat, and several hats as well.

ReplyDeleteA wonderful cause and so lovely crochet works!! Great job, Ana, really super ♥
ReplyDeleteYou're wonderful, great cause, and truthfully, the handmade things are so much more meaningful than something store bought. I have been wanting to do something similar for my local hospital, so thanks for the inspiration. I've also been wanting to start a blog dedicated to projects like this one so people can choose from a wide variety of causes. I'll let you know if it happens, namely the blog, and maybe you could help and do research for the spanish speaking ones. thanks for sharing on craft schooling Sunday!
ReplyDeleteThat is a great idea, Sara. Let me know if you set up the blog, and I´d love to help...
