I already started the third “baby Mood Blanket”…

Ya comencé a tejer la tercera manta de bebé para el reto “Mood Challenge”…

Inspired by spring, I started the blanket with flower motifs…but they “my mood” took me in a different direction, and I continued it with granny stripes.  Today is the day 90 of the challenge, so I am a little more advanced than the pictures show.  If all goes as planned, I should finish it next week…

Inspirada en la primavera, comencé la manta con flores…pero luego le di un giro al tema, y seguí con líneas granny.  Hoy es el día 90 del Reto, así que voy un poco más avanzada que lo que muestran las fotos.  Si no hay contratiempos, debería terminar esta manta la próxima semana…

Mom's Diving Shawl

My mom also fell in love with the “Diving In” shawl, and she made her own version…

Mi mamá también se enamoró del Chal “Diving in”, y tejió u propia versión… 

She also used a variegated Merino, but in a different shade, with green, cream and aqua colors.  It is hard to photograph this shawl in its entirety because of its length, but I took one spread on the floor so you can appreciate the beauty of the diagonal stripes.  Last time I forgot to mention the picot edge on the last row; it is a bit tedious to knit, but so worth the effort.  My mom also made a simple crochet border around the rest of the shawl, to frame it.

 Ella también usó una lana manchada de merino, con tonos verde, crema y aqua (Merino Gold Batik, de Madame Tricote Paris).  Es difícil fotografiar este chal entero debido a lo largo que es, pero le tomé una foto extendido en el suelo para que puedan apreciar sus bellas franjas diagonales.  Cuando les mostré mi chal, se me olvidó mencionar el borde picot, el cual está tejido en dos agujas; es algo tedioso de hacer, pero vale la pena.  Alrededor del resto del chal, mi mamá tejió un borde simple en ganchillo, para enamarcarlo.

Recientemente tejí unas cintas de cabeza para bebé en colores primaverales…

All are made in crochet, with double-thread cotton, hook 3.5 mm.  I made different sizes, ranging from new born to 12 months.

Todas las cintas están hechas en ganchillo, con hilo doble de algodón, y gancho de 3.5 mm.  Las hice en diferentes tallas, que varían de recién nacido a 1 año.

In Love with a New Shawl

Earlier this year I came across a shawl pattern in Ravelry that I fell in love with.  It is called: Diving In, and I knew I had to give it a try…  

Al principio del año encontré en Ravelry un lindo patrón de chal del cual me enamoré.  Se llama: Diving In, y supe que tenía que hacerlo… 

I used a variegated Merino yarn (Merino Gold, by Madame Tricote Paris).  I simply love the color effects of this merino yarn.  After a few inches of only merino, I then combined it with another yarn of similar weight (Dora, by Madame Tricote Paris), first in cream, then in grey and finally purple for the final edge. 

It is a very versatile shawl that can be arranged in many ways, and even worn as a scarf.  I am very happy with the final result of this shawl, and I am already making a second one…

Utilicé una lana mixta de merino (Merino Gold, Madame Tricote Paris), y luego la combiné con otra lana de peso similar (Dora, Madame Tricote Paris), en colores crema, gris y morado.  Ya he mencionado antes esta lana de merino, y vuelvo a decir que me encanta el efecto que produce el cambio largo de colores. 

Es un chal muy versátil, que pude usarse de varias formas, incluso como bufanda.  Estoy muy satisfecha con el resultado, y ya estoy planeando tejer un segundo…

Classic in Beige

A classic baby cardigan in color Beige...

Un cardigan clásico para bebé, en color marrón claro (beige)...  

It is made in crochet with a soft acrylic yarn (Selina, Tamm), with hook 3.5 mm. It is ranglan style, made form the neck down.  The neck, sleeves and waist borders have a rib effect (alternating Fpst and Bpst).

Está tejido en ganchillo con una lana suave y liviana (Selina, Tamm), con aguja 3,5 mm. Está hecho en estilo raglan, del cuello para abajo.  El borde del cuello, las mangas y la cintura las hice con una puntada resorte.

Mood Blanket: Granny Tiles (68/365)

With granny number 67, I am finishing the second baby blanket, as part of the Crochet Mood Blanket Challenge... 

Con el cuadrito número 67 estoy terminando la segunda manda de bebé, como parte del Reto Crochet Mood Blanket...

As I mentioned before, instead of making one huge blanket, I will be making several baby blankets. The first one was made with 42 squares. The motifs of this second blanket are larger, therefore it only needed 25 squares.  I made solid granny squares in: navy blue, red, grey, green, yellow, light blue and orange.  All colored squares were later joined on the last row with color white.

Como mencioné antes, en lugar de hacer una gran manta, decidí hacer varias mantas de bebé. La primera la hice con 42 cuadros.  La segunda tiene sólo 25 cuadros, pero los motifs son más grandes.  Primero hice cuadros de colores: azul marino, rojo, verde, gris, amarillo mostaza, celeste y naranja.  Luego uní estos cuadros de color en la última pasada con blanco.   

Today is day 68, so I already made the square for the day, which is the start of a new blanket…

Hoy es el día 68, así que ya hice el cuadrito del día, lo cual marca el inicio de una nueva manta…

For Preemies and a Preview

These tiny crochet hats were made for two baby twins that were born prematurely.  The twins were a boy and a girl…

Estas pequeñas gorras son un pedido especial para unos gemelos que nacieron prematuramente.  Los gemelos son un niño y una niña…

I made both with a soft cotton in grey, and then gave each one a special touch: in navy blue for the boy and pink for the girl. 

Ambas gorras están hechas con un algodón suave en color gris; luego a cada uno le di un toque especial: en azul marino para el niño y en rosado para la niña.

The first one for a baby girl, and this second one will be for a boy.   These squares are larger, so that means that it will take only 25 squares.  Therefore, this weekend I ought to finish it…

La primera la hice para una niña, así que decidí hacer la segunda para un niño.  Los cuadros son más grandes, así que necesitaré hacer sólo 25 cuadros.  Esto significa que podré terminarla el fin de semana…
