It is a summer poncho, made with cotton (Camilla) in different shades of purple and pink, plus white and grey.

Short-sleeved top for a baby girl…

Una blusita de manga corta para una bebé… 

I used a pattern by our friend Marianna, which can be found at her blog: Marianna’s Lazy Daisy Days @ Rosebud baby Girl Cardigan.  It is a crochet baby top with short sleeves, made from the top down.  I used DK cotton in pink, and white for the border.  For the sleeve, instead of the last row of sc, I used slip st.  

It is a quick and fun make.  Thank you, Marianna, for sharing such a cute pattern.  I am already planning to make another one using white and beige cotton…

Utilicé un patrón (en inglés) del blog Marianna’s lazy Daisy Days @ Rosebud Baby Girl Cardigan. Es un cardigan de manga corta, hecho en ganchillo desde arriba para abajo.  Usé un algodón liviano en color rosado, y blanco para el borde.  

Es un proyecto rápido y divertido.  Gracias, Marianna, por compartir tan lindo patrón.  Ya escogí un algodón blanco y beige para hacer el segundo…

Cotton Baby Hats

Two cotton baby hats…

Dos gorras para bebé…

A first-time grandma asked me to make two hats for her newborn grandchild.  One hat is lacy with a colorful flower.  The other one has earflaps and little bear ears, in white and touches of light pink. Both hats are made with a very soft cotton (Tren Soft), perfect for a newborn baby.

Una abuela primeriza me pidió que le tejiera dos gorras para su nieta recién nacida.  Una gorra es calada, con una flor colorida. La otra es una gorra con orejeras y divertidas orejas de osito, en tonos dulces.  Ambas gorras están hechas en algodón muy suave (Tren Soft), perfectos para un recién nacido.

More Mood Blankets

My mom is also taking part of the Mood Blanket Challenge, and she has been making granny stripes blankets too…

Mi mamá también está participando del Reto “Mood Blanket Challenge”, y ha estado tejiendo mantas de franjas de la abuelita (granny stripes)…

As you can see, mom also made her own version of the granny stripes with flower squares at the beginning and end (Similar to the one I showed you last time: 3rdMood Blanket).  And for the boy version, she used yarns in shades of blue.

Como pueden apreciar, mi mamá también hizo su versión de la manta con cuadros de flor al inicio y final (similar a la que les mostré en la entrada pasada: 3rd Mood Blanket.

Granny Stripes with a Twist

As I shared before, I am taking part of the “Mood Blanket Challenge”.  But instead of making one huge blanket, I am making several baby ones.  This is the third blanket of the year, reaching 100 squares (or granny stripes) so far…and 265 more to go.  This blanket is made with granny stripes…with a twist:

Como les compartí al inicio del año, estoy participando en el Reto “Mood Blanket”.  Pero en lugar de hacer una frazada gigante, decidí hacer varias para bebé.  Esta es la tercera manta de bebé del año, alcanzando un total de 100 cuadros (o franjas)…y aún faltan 265 hasta el final del año.  Esta manta está hecha con franjas de la abuelita (granny)…con un nuevo giro:

I started this blanket with a row of flower granny squares (check for chart here: Sunburst-likeMotif).  Then I made the rest of the blanket with granny stripes (check for chart here: Blankets with GrannyStripes).  The last row was then joined (as-you-go) to another row of flower squares.  This was a kind of experiment, so there was a little bit of “make, unravel and remake”, but I am glad it worked out at the end.

My mom is also taking part of the Mood Challenge, and she made her own version of this blanket too, which I will show you next week…

Comencé haciendo esta manta con una hilera de cuadritos florales (patrón gráfico: Sunburst-like motif).  El resto lo hice con “franjas de la abuelita” (granny stripes; patrón gráfico acá).  Por último, la franjas se unen con una última hilera de cuadritos florales.  Esto fue una especia de experimento, así que tuve que hacer y deshacer varias veces, y me alegro que al final funcionó.

Mi mamá también está participando del reto, y en la próxima ocasión les mostraré las versiones que ella tejió…

2 All Shawls: Pink and Red

Warm weather is definitely in my mind, and it reflects on my current project choices.  In this past month, I made two lacy “All Shawls”, which are perfect for spring and summer…

El clima cálido está en mi mente, y se refleja en la selección de mis proyectos actuales.  En el mes pasado, tejí dos chales “All Shawl”, los cuales son perfectos para la primavera y el verano… 

I love the “All Shawl”.  It is a lacy crochet shawl designed by Doris Chan.  If you have been following me from my other blog (Lanas & Hilos), you know that I have made several of these throughout the years: “Collection”; “For summer”; “Times Two”.  They are one of the most comfortable crochet shawls I have worn, because they hug the shoulders perfectly.  And even better, they are fast and easy to make.  And if that was not good enough…the pattern is free! (@ Ravelry: All Shawl).

The bright pink one is made with luscious cotton (artisanal).  The red one was a special gift, and I made it with angora in the body, and acrylic yarn for the edge to give it some weight and drape. 

I am sure this won´t be the last time I make one of these shawls…for I love it!

Estoy enamorada del “All Shawl”, que es un chal calado de ganchillo, diseñado por Doris Chan.  Si ustedes me han seguido desde mi antiguo blog (Lanas & Hilos), sabrán que hemos tejido muchos de estos chales a lo largo de los años: “Collection”; “For summer”; “Times Two”.  Este es uno de los chales más cómodos que he usado, ya que abraza perfectamente los hombres y tiene una linda caída.  Además, es rápido de tejer y fácil.  Lo mejor es que el patrón es gratis (en ingles @ Ravelry: All Shawl). 

El chal rosado intenso está hecho de un algodón artesanal muy sedoso.  El rojo lo tejí para un regalo especial; el cuerpo está hecho con angora, y el borde con lana acrílica para darle peso y caída.

Estoy segura que no será la última vez que teja este chal, porque ¡me encanta!

Colores brillantes y alegres para unas gorritas y botas para bebé…

For all of these projects, I used a silky acrylic DK yarn: Dora (by Madame Tricote Paris), and hook 3.5 mm.  [No pattern: improvised, but inspired by some crochet projects I had seen in Pinterest]

Para todas estas piezas utilicé una lana acrílica sedosa llamada Dora, de la casa Madame Tricote Paris.  [Sin patrón: improvisados, pero inspirados en unos proyectos en ganchillo que vi en Pinterest]
